Liz Griesser paints in oils in a traditional manner. Many of her paintings have animals as her subjects. As she says, “Animals paint themselves, I just hold the brush as they come to life.” Her paintings of animals have captured the heart of many collectors. Liz has also been enjoying landscape painting as a plein air painter in competitions in the last 2 years. Liz Griesser is a member artist Oil Painters of America, Delaware Valley Art League, Artist Equity of Philadelphia, PAAG, Wayne Art Center, and has been creating oil paintings for over 10 years. She received an arts degree at Hussian School of Art (1986) and has run her own graphics company since graduation. Returning to her passion for painting 10 years ago, she studied with the Yellow Springs classes under David Knoecklin. Over the past few years, she has been in the Chester County Studio Tour, the Montgomery County Studio Tour, Brandywine Valley Plein Air, West Reading Plein Air, Philadelphia Sketch Club Between Two Rivers Plein Air, along with many juried competitions internationally and in the tri-state area. Foreign travel over the past few years has given her a new appreciation of the incredible beauty of this area. With her paintings, she hopes to give others a view into her world. Her works are in numerous private collections throughout the Northeast regions of the United States.
