Corca Dhuibhne

oil on cradled panel, black floater frame.

8 x10

Painting made from imagery inspired and collected during recent trip to Ireland. This is the Dingle Penninsula, on the West Coast of Ireland, area of wild ocean and cliffs.

Corca Dhuibhne - means "seed or tribe of Duibhne" (a Goddess, a Gaelic clann name), takes its name from the túath (people, nation) of Corco Dhuibhne who occupied the peninsula in the Middle Ages.
