Study, Old City, Knoxville

Oil on linen panel

8 x 12 inches

During the American Civil War, the city of Knoxville changed hands between Union and Confederate forces many times because it was a highly coveted rail junction. Today, the neighborhood near the rail lines is known as "Old City," and I love its low-slung red brick buildings and authentic history.
This painting is framed in a satin black frame. Framed dimensions are 12.25" x 16.25".
