There was something very different about a mountain rain.  It wasn't the driving, blinding rain of the summer south.  It was a slow rain.  A meandering rain.  A filling of clouds bit by bit as billowy tufts of water vapor joined and multiplied on warm air currents; locked in by the surrounding mountains.  And then you would see it, the clouds as full as they could bare; the spilling of rain with clouds that even upon lightening, had nowhere to go and so they'd linger long into the night...
