ABOUT THE WORK

"Boogie Ride" is a fanciful, light-hearted composition featuring a red and green complimentary palette with some variations of yellow. Most of the colors are muted to keep an airy feel. It has a contemporary thin, white floater frame that brings the dimensions to 12 3/8" x 12 3/8" x 1 1/2" deep. The song is titled Thanks for the Boogie Ride which was a play on words from the 1926 hit song called Thanks For The Buggy Ride. It was written by Ronald Buck and Sidney Mitchell and was first recorded by Gene Krupa. An excerpt of the lyrics is below. Dancing and painting both take me out of this world.

You don't know until you glide
Into the boogie ride
How quickly you will fly
Out of this world
