Bringing Back the Buckets

ABOUT THE WORK
This year I visited the beach (Margate, NJ) only twice due to COVID. I take all of my own photographs for painting reference. I wanted to make the best of each visit and I remember on this particular day in late June there were two young women with a group of about 6-8 small kids. I'm assuming it was some type of camp or daycare because it was during the week in the middle of the day.
Anyway, they were SO much fun to watch. The kids had non-stop energy and those women were keeping them entertained. One of the women went down to the water to refill some buckets for a game and as she was walking back with those buckets, I saw a painting right then and there.
I don't know if you are familiar with the Spanish painter, Joaquin Sorolla (1863-1923). I am a BIG fan. If you love the light and color of the seaside, his work will blow your socks off!
