Metallic Silver and Blue Gouache
ABOUT THE WORK
"Maples, 4pm December 4th"
Metallic Silver and Prussian Blue Gouache
I love walking in the late afternoon when the sun is sinking below the horizon and the snow glows in the twilight. It's dark and moody, fully of mystery.
This painting is dark, and probably not for every taste, but it's my favorite so far of all the minis I've made over the years. It really captures what I love about winter! (It was also technically difficult, all of the blue branches are made BEFORE the sky by painting thin lines of latex over blue. The unprotected blue is scrubbed off under hot water. The sky gets painted over top, then the latex removed. It's a complex way to make a line, but it gives a beautiful, almost print making quality to my work.
Anyway I hope someone gets as excited about this as I am hehe.
