Polar Pursuit

oil on cradled wood

6" x 12" x 1.5" deep

My 25 Days of Minis collection highlights four endangered/threatened animal species from the north to the south pole and back again.
"Polar Pursuit" : This is an oil on cradled wood painting that portrays a bear on the hunt with a definite purpose in his stride. Look at his focused eyes! The wooden sides are painted a complimentary shade of white. This painting is wired and ready to hang in your home or sit on a shelf.
Size: 6" x 12" x 1.5" deep
Polar Bear Fact: Polar bears can smell their prey up to 1 km away. This helps them find seals breathing holes in the sea ice and even detect a seal in the water below through 3 feet of compacted snow. Polar bears use sea ice as a platform to hunt ringed or bearded seals. They also scavenge carcasses or settle for small mammals, birds, eggs, and vegetation.
