When I am making art, I am at play. For me, play is energizing, restorative, transforms my mood and my space in an instant.
While I have a deep love of creating in paint, print and wood, my current focus is on painting abstracted, imaginary landscapes. My paintings are colorful, simple and full of energy, like the outdoor-centered days of youth. I paint these to discover and recreate the source of wonder, energy and aliveness in today’s world and to remind us of life in simpler times.
Every painting I make holds the power to connect people with their own experience of freedom and uninhibited self-expression. They have a restful but energetic countenance and the ability to transform space and spirit in a moment through play.
I love making these paintings and I especially find gratification in connecting with the people who love them as I do.
